Day 2- Gold and Dragons...

Breakfast at Longstreet Cafe, then off to Dahlonegha Georgia (site of the first gold rush in the USA) to pan for gold. The boys didn't quite pay for their trip but did find some gold. Headed up into North Carolina to Deal's Gap and road the infamous "Tail of the Dragon," a twisty, turny road favored by motorcyclists.

From Randy: Not nearly as many miles today, but great quality! Woke up at the TuckerHouse (thanks again Steve, Diane and Ella), Hank went for a run, saw two deer. Had breakfast at Longstreet cafeteria- Highly recommended if you're in the greater gainesville metroplex- then headed off. Gold museum and panning in dahlonega, then on to Suches and T.W.O. motorcycle resort- the restaurant was closed, but a very pretty place. Rode Wolf Pen Gap road over to 129. hank was lovin'it, but it was going to get better! Rode up 129 into N.C. and Deal's Gap, better known as the tail of the dragon- 11 miles of road, 318 curves. Insane! Hank rocked it, Randy was passable. Tons of fun had by all!!! Spent the night at the tuskeegee inn just down the road from the dragon, slept very well! Went to the tailofthedragon website - won't be taking the 94 Ford Escort wagon up there anytime soon. Have you guys hit any good bbq stands yet?

Tail of the Dragon looks like fun in an arse puckering sort of way. i.e. EEEEK! (How fast do most people ride it?) It sounds like you guys are having fun. Glad to hear you survived the wind gusts and torrential rain. Keep those pictures and posts coming!
